Hi

We are running a DHCP Server Service on Windows 2000 Server /w Windows XP
Professional as an client workstation.

The Netbios generate a lot of broadcast on network and we would like to
disable the netbios on TCP/IP via the DHCP Server, and how can we do that?

Please advise.

Thank You

If the clients are configured to use NetBIOS setting from the DHCP server,
then you can use the vender class option to disable NetBIOS:

there are a number of misconceptions dealing with netbios and I wonder if
this question doesn't fall under that catagory.

First is how are you determining netbios is generating lots of traffic?
Netbios should be encapsultated in tcp/ip so I have to question how you are
making this determination.

Do you understand that without netbios your My Network Places will NOT be
populated?
