There must me a bug regarding NetBIOS connectivity Win98 NetBIOS <-> Windows
Server 2003. After domain authentication in Win98 and 15 minutes of
inactivity, the connection using domain credentials cannot be reestablished.
This is both for the conection to the authorizing domain controller and to
other Win98 machines using user-level access control for shared resources.
The interesting is, that connection CAN be established to domain member
servers, tha have NOT been accessed since logon time.
The authorizing server creates during reconnection IPC$ session - marked as
non-guest, but DOES NOT accept credentials. Everything is fine after Win 98
machine reboot.
I tested this in laboratory environment - clear defualt installation, Win
98, NetBIOS domain authetication, Win 2003 domain, mixed mode and this
behavior is absolutely repeatable.
