NetBIOS Naming Question

On page 4-10 of the "Windows Server 2003 Network
Infrastructure" book there is a question of "Which of the
following is a legal NetBIOS computer name?". One of the
names listed is host1-microsoft which page 4-65 indicates
is not a legal NetBIOS name.

Facts:
Name is 15 characters (within NetBIOS naming requirements)
Name contains valid characters (A-Z, 0-9 and - is valid)

My question is:
Why is host1-microsoft not a legal NetBIOS computer name?

could be a misprint? host1.microsoft???
