Netbios name issue

When i try to ping my server(w2k3 server) using netbios name, it will
return other ip but sometimes it will return its own ip. But that
different ip is consistently the same ip. It is correct when ping
using ip. Then i check wins (which on another server) the ip and
netbios name is correct in the wins database. Pls advise thanks

also check the dns.

I got an error during post, so I am re posting.

Verify DHCP server is setup to update DNS and WINS.
