I just ran a NET DIAG with two of my Win98 machines using NetBios as the
protocol and get an error that says "NetBios error 14H occurred
There was an error attempting to call on LANA 0."
Any Ideas? What does the above error message mean?
Here's some background. Four Machines on the network. Two running Win98
SE, one on WinME and one Win2K. I just cloned and replaced the Win2k
machine and one Win98 SE machine and bought a new router. Previous network
had a router and a switch but I found new router with enough ports.
Two days ago none of the Win98 SE machines would connect to the Win2K
machine, yesterday I started getting IP Conflict notices and corrected that
by using IPCONFIG to flush and then register new IP's, rebooted the whole
network (three of the four machines, fourth was powered down anyways) and
was fine. The fourth machine is the one I am having a problem with today.
I can ping the fourth machine, from any of the other machines fine. The
fourth machine cannot ping any other machine, however all three other
machines can ping and get response from the fourth. One Win98 and the WinMe
machines can even explore the file contents of the fourth while the Win2K
cannot.
Unfortunately, I need the Win2K and the fourth machine to communicate in
order to use certain software.
All help resolving this will be appreciated.
Thank you,
R Hyte
