Netbios and DNS Names

We are using WINS and DNS adn we use static IP's. Our WINS
servers are running NT. We have 98 and 2000 machines. A
lot of the time our 98 machines and some 2000 machines
drop off teh network. I just found out that our PC Techs
are giving the PC's a Netbios name of abc_xxx_abc123 but a
DNS name of xxx_abc. Wouldn't this cause a problem with
either our WINS or DNS?
