netbeui on windows server 2003

how can i install and activate netbeui protocol on windows server 2003?
is it a reliable protocol to work with windows 2003 server?

Yes you can install it and yes it is included in 2003

Real question is why? It is a good protocol imo but its not routable and
doesn't have the feature set tcp/ip has. A lot of server functions are
dependant on tcp/ip.

Recommendation is only install TCP/IP

Yes you can definetely install it but I also dont see the point. I
just spent the past week trying to eliminate a previous WINS/NetB
installation off my network. You should be able to do just about
anything with the TCP/IP and DNS combination.

Except cross subnet browsing. <g> For that you'll
need a NetBIOS Name Server. NetBEUI or NetBIOS
Extended User Interface won't get you there either because
it is not routable.
