finally get netatalk running in my Redhat 9 box, i have connected to a
mac and a pc using 1Gb nic's via 1Gb switch, and cat6 cables, but when
i try to copy files bigger than 2GB, get an error about "out of
space", and i have 60 GB of space in my HD, can anybody help me to
solve that?

There's a limitation in the kernel when it comes to handling large
files; for a description and how to overcome that see
http://www.linuxmafia.com/faq/VALinu...ize-limit.html
, which was the first referrence that I found right now.

Cheers, Jack.

Those limits were for the 2.2 kernel and lower. RH9 uses 2.4 and
this should no longer apply, although it might still be an issue for
appletalk and it would be a problem for a win98 PC. Which machine
is giving the error message? If you have a mac running OSX you
should be able to connect using samba instead.

What kind of speed are you expecting/getting? Try timing some ftp
copies to get an idea of what the network and your disks can do,
then tweak the samba options and you should come pretty close.
If you want to use nfs, you have to be sure both ends are using
nfsv3 to handle large files. I'm not sure about netatalk.
