.net Framework 1.1 screws up Internet access through Router

I recently couldn't access email or the internet when I went through my
wired or wireless Linksys routers. After beating my head against a brick
wall several times, I decided to remove .net Framework 1.1 that was
installed with Print Shop 20. Voila, everything is fine now. Are there some
setting in .net Framework I need to adjust to allow it to coexist with my
router?

I have the .net Framework installed on some computers behind an 11S4
router. I don't see how the .net Framework would interfere with the
router. Maybe somehow, it did something with the O/S network protocol on
the machine or something else on the computer. There was nothing on the
router or the machine for that matter that had to be set.

When 1.1 is installed, it creates a new user, aspi.net. When I removed this
user, everthing went back to normal. Go figure.

The .Net Framework does nothing with your router setting. It is just a
framework, providing an IDL Compiler an some libraries for appllications to
use.

I have .Net Framework 1.0 & 1.1 on the laptop I am currently writing this
message - using a WLAN Connection to my W2K Server and SMC Router. .Net
Framework is currently running also on my server using the same router...

Did you catch one of the new Trojans using a flaw in IE, twisting your local
DNS & LMHOST settings?

Cheers,

Jens
