After I installed my MN-720 wireless adapter on my Compaq
laptop running Windows 2000 (fully updated), I noticed an
entry in the network properties boxes for "net firewall".
I don't recall seeing those before. Doesn't seem to be
causing any problem with the wirelss connection at home,
but I'm concerned that when I connect to the domain at
work there might be a problem And the last thing I need
is to irritate our IT Dept.
Was Net firwall a networking component of Windows 2000 all
along and I just overlooked it? If not, could it cause
problems like preventing the work IT people from accessing
my laptop remotely while I'm on the network (work network
is largely Microsoft with some Novell components, and I
don't know what they use for remote access)? Or any other
problems? Finally if Net firewall was installed with the
MN-720 and I disable or uninstall Net firewall, will that
affect the wireless operation thru my Netgear WGR614v4
router? Thanks in advance.
