I've connected my new PC w/XP to an older Dell PC using
Linksys wireless via a DSL connection.... finally got the
printer to work ok on the 2nd PC..

the problem is with the old Compaq Presario 1270 Laptop
running Win 98.. I installed the Linksys Notebook adapter
card.. it's picking up the DSL signal.. but I cannot find
a way to have it recognize my HP Photosmart 1215 printer
that's connected to my Main PC .. I go to Print share.. and
a list of printers shows up but obviously the 1215 is newer
than the Win 98 software that's there...so it's not
listed.. I called Linksys..they are no help whatsoever...
they dump it off to MS who does not support Win 98 anymore...

any info/advice/help/suggestions will be greatly
appreciated..

thanx much

Ray K

1.Share the printer from the XP machine.
Go Start--Settings--Printers and Faxes
Right click the printer and select Sharing
Click the button to share it, accept the default sharename or change it to
something you like

2. Add the printer on the 98 machine.
Open Control Panel--Printers
Click Add Printer
Select Network Printer
For Network path or quename either browse for the printer or use
\\computername\sharename
Then select the driver, you need to either have this on the CD that came
with printer or download it from HP.
I am sure win98 doesn't have a driver for it.
A couple more ok's and it is done

By the way, it has nothing to do with the router.
