I am trying to find a 200mW access point for 802.11 at a reasonable price -
I HAVE googled but either there is no price shown OR there is a price and
they are out of stock etc. So far spent about two hours trying to find a
reasonally priced 200mW AP which can drive an external aerial.

Also interested in finding 200mW 802.11 cards - both PCI and PCMIA

If someone happens to know a site that has both stock AND prices, I would
appreciate knowing it, if they can export to the UK too this would be a fab
bonus!

Many thanks.

Mark

ps: for those interested, I HAVE managed to find good prices on directional
aerials, http://www.rangeextender.com/224diecaalpa.html has 24dbi units from
under $70 - which seems a pretty good price.

www.demarctech.com
www.teletronics.com

Operating a 200mw radio would be illegal in the UK. You are limited to 100mw
EIRP on that side of the pond, so you would need an access point that
transmits somewhere below 20dbm.

Very many thanks for this Jeremy, the demartech site in particular looks
very interesting. Also thanks for the warning about 100mw being the max
permitted, I hadn't realised that.

Mark
