Hi all,

I have one suse Linux server10 and i have 2 networks called
10.87.87.*, 10.91.91.* In my server machine supporting apache &
Tomcat services with these two networks.

My thought is >> If suppose anything goes down (i.e) For example Apache
goes down i want an alert from server machine or some other machine to
my local machine.[Assume here i have using Outlook Express for my mail
purpose, if anything wrong from server side i need a mail alert from
that server machine or some other machine] How can i setup rule for
this problem.. Because some times we are busy in some other works. So
that we are not able to Monitor the server Continuously...

If anybody know solution for that above mentioned problem please let me
know clearly...

Thanks,
Suresh.T

Use crontab to test every hour whether the server is running, with
"pgrep httpd" or attempting to wget a file from the server.

<MonkAway> not to mention NT Security
