I need a 'normal' ADSL modem/router to simply split an ADSL connection
between 3 PC's. I don't want feature rich la di da.

The only proviso is that it must support MSN Messenger use.

I need a router because the machine the USB connection currently goes
thru via ICS, is regularly rebooted and this of course means other users
have to wait for it to come back online before they can again access the
internet.

Have checked ADSL guide and liked the look of the Draytek 2600, but the
price is scary for a simple 'split' like i want.

The Solwise 715 is OK, but out of stock until November.

Recommendations?

FYI there's a Draytek 2600 on ebay.co.uk for £77.50 atm

It's not the cheapest, but it's solid as a rock. I have the 2600We and
never have to touch it.

Ditto here with two 2600 (office/home) - never had any issues with either.

Have you considered one of the AMX routers, rebadged as Dabs Value by
Dabs?

The 4 port version is 45 GBP inc VAT and has a good reputation as far as I
can see. Uses the Conexant chipset.

I've just bought a Draytek 2500, and I'm very impressed. It's got most of
the features of the 2600, but it's a good bit cheaper. It supports uPnP, so
is fully compatible with MSN.
