I installed & configured rras on 2 servers & made 3
subnets successfully.

My question is do I need to install netbios in order for
other comp. to show up in network neighborhood? I have no
luck with pure tcp/ip. I can \\ it but it doesn't show up
automatically. Is this how 03 is or am I not doing
something correctly?

Netbios over tcp/ip [ this is NOT netbeui ] must be enabled if you want
computers to show up in My Network Places. Even so when doing such problems
can occur when browsong over subnets. The usual solution is to use wins or
lmhosts files. Wins is probably the best solution and make sure the rras
server and ALL computers are wins clients. The browse list is maintained by
broadcasts when there is no wins server and broadcasts do not work over
routers normally. In Windows 2003 rras you have the option to enable netbios
broadcasts over rras under server/properties - enable broadcast name
resolution which may work though wins is the best solution. --- Steve
