Hi all,
I have just bought a linksys BEFW11S4 wirless router and a wireless pci
card. Here's the setup:
PC A (mine)=XPhome connected to roadrunner. There are two network
connections listed Local Area Connection and 1394 Connection (have no clue
what that one is)
PC B (kids pc)=Windows 2000pro with the linksys wireless card.
Both machines can surf regardless if I use ICS on XP or not. What I want to
do is have a shared directory between the two, but neither one can see each
other on the network. I have ran the network setup several times, searched
the net and tried everything I can think of. I even tried enabling UPNP on
both. I have not changed the default setting on the router (it's in
Infastructure mode) do I need to setup PC B with a static IP or make
everything AdHock? What are some of the settings in the router should I be
looking at to get me where I want to go? Let me know if I should post more
info, kind of a newb at all this.

Thanks,
Brian

The problem I think is with the Network Protocol being used on the
machines NIC(s). One may be using NetBios while the other one is using
NetBEUI. I don't know for sure, because I have never mixed protocols.
Trying using NETBios as the protocol and all machines. I use NWlink
IPX/SPX NetBios compatible to allow the wired and wireless machines to
see each other connected to my 11S4 V1 router. If you switch, uninstall
the other protocol before installing the other one.

That's for you firewire port (probably got one on your sound card). Firewire
has networking capabilities.
