I have set up a Windows server 2003. With 8 Windows XP-Pro
client machines. It is not complicated. All we are using it
for is to share documents. During the day, we get kicked
out of word while in the middle of a document. All the
machines are left on. When we return the next morning, We
have to reboot the computers as we lost contact with the
server. This happens every day. As a matter of fact, it
seems to happen around 6:30 pm every night. (When working
late, we get the message that we are disconnected from the
server) Has anyone come across this problem or can offer
some advise.
Thanks
RAC

check the policy and scheduled tasks for stopping network services, also
check the power management settings.

Robert,
I checked the policy and scheduled tasks and there is
nothing in there regarding user access. Power management
settings: do not have with LAN card (That is only place I
know to check).

There are probably some messages in the event logs that
would help resolve the issue, or at least make the problem
a little bit more clear.
