I am using the MN-100 base station to connect my laptop
(running WinXP) to my desktop (Win2K). It worked fine in
the beginning, I was able to access my desktop's files
from my laptop (not the other way though), but then
suddenly I lost that ability. The base station sees both
machines, however, the MS Broadband Network Utility on
each machine sees the other only as "other device" and
can not access files.

I tried to reinstall the software, I upgraded the firmware
on the base station, tried to read the other messages in
this newsgroup, but I still can not figure out what went
wrong.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Boris.

P.S. The base station is not connected to the internet, I
am using it with the sole purpose of connecting my two
machines, not to share the net connection.

Did you install or enable a software firewall on the
computers? This would prevent access. Also are both
machines on same workgroup? Did you disable sharing for
the folders that you used to access (use the right mouse
click to opne the contextual menu and check sharing)?

Finally on a Command Prompt run ipconfig and verify both
computers have IPs in the 192.168.2.x subnet
