Need your guys help.
Have to install a wireless network in a three story brick house.
The previous installer could not get the wireless network to work. Dropped
signals, weak, inconsistent performance. The whole thing was scrapped at
great cost.
It is strictly a PC network.
Currently, two hp printers running 802.11b which work great
One dlink USB wireless print server with an Epson USB printer which works
most of the time, sometimes the dlink requires a power cycle.
Some laptops run 802.11b Centrinos, three desktops run 802.11g. The cable
modem is on the third floor. No cat wiring available throughout. Most PCS
dont have internet access.
The client things the gear used previously was Netgear but he is not sure.
It was all returned.
I need to run WDS and if the house had just one Mac, I would install Airport
Extreme Base stations with the external attenane. Runs great, the base
stations speak to each other flawlessly. But there is not a Mac to be found.
I've tried Belkin 54G routers but could not get WDS to work with anything.
What should I try? Should I look at the Cisco products? Looks like I need
one wireless router, and several access points. What what to buy? 3COM 6000?
Cisco 1100? Linksys?
Your help would be most appreciated,
JohnJ
