Need AirPlus utility for DLink 650 card

I recently had to wipe out my laptop and restore it. I can't find what I did
with the previous DLink driver, so I went to their website to download the
latest. The driver worked fine, but did not have the AirPlus utility with
it. I need this utility in order to set the correct WEP setting for my
wireless router. I tried to use the Windows managed settings under the
wireless adapter, but my WEP key is 7 characters long and XP tells me it
needs to be either 5 or 13 exactly because of the strength of the encryption
and will not accept that key. I'm using 64bit encryption on the router - XP
says 40bit, which is the equivalent to 64 from my understanding. So, can
anyone tell me where I can either get the AirPlus utility or how to get XP
to allow me to give it the correct WEP key?

Thanks in advance!

You right-click on the My Computer line Properties/Hardware/Device
Manager/Network Adapter and find the card and right-click
Properties/Advanced.

Uh, yeah? Then what? You told me where to go, but not anything to do. I see
Property column then the corresponding value column. Are you saying I need
to change one of them to something???

I enabled IPsec, Multicast, PPTP as they are the ones I needed to get
through. It should be a process of elimination for your VPN connection to
your job based on the VPN setup there and try it. You may need to ask your
Network Admin at the job as to what protocol(s) are needed on the router.

Dude, you really fucking suck. First you tell me where to navigate, but not
what action(s) to take. Now you're telling me what to enable to get my VPN
running. Did I say I had a VPN problem? - I need to be able to give the
wireless card my WEP key so the router will give me an IP address and let me
on the net!
DO NOT provide me with anymore info - you are useless and I'm unbelievabley
confused as to how you thought you were helping me.

Have you emailed Dlink tech support? In my experience they are
pretty reasonable people.
Make sure you don't start your email by mentioning how much they
suck because you lost the proprietary software that came with
the product. You might want to strike a more reasonable tone.

Yeah, I'll try to give them a call and I wouldn't use that tone with them.
However, did you read the thread and see what that guy responded with? My
tone was warranted. I mean I'm sure he was trying to help, but to tell me to
just navigate somewhere and end it there, then follow it up with telling me
how to fix a very specific problem that has nothing to do with my problem is
unreasonable in my opinion. Thanks for the lecture though.

No need for you to go off the deep end with it man, anyone can make a
mistake and make a wrong post, as I have helped a few people around here
with good information. You can check my history in this NG. But on the
other hand, I cannot help it if you're so damn stupid that you don't know
what the Hell you're doing.

And on top of that you idiot, I gave you the correct spot to go to
configure the damn card. Now, if you're too damn stupid to figure it out at
that point after doing it with the D-link utility, put the damn machine in
the closet and give up.

Wrong, buddy. I know exactly what I'm doing. The only help I asked for was
where to find the AirPlus utility as it is not included with the latest
driver on their site. You're actually calling me stupid? What did I do that
was stupid, not be able to find this utility? You on the other hand give
dead end information, then tell me how to fix a problem that I don't have
and never mentioned.
