I have a NeatGear router. It shows I'm connected Excellent to the internet,
but I can not access any web pages. When I bring up Internet Explorer it
brings up a default page, like I am not connected. Is this due to firewalls?
If so how do I fix it? Thanks. Toni

It sounds like your Netgear router isn't getting DNS and/or authorization
from your modem. Since you didn't say how you connect to the Internet - DSL
or cable and what cable/DSL modem you have - that's as specific as I can
get.

You can try Googling for "set up Netgear [insert model] with [insert
make/model of your router].

You can see if there is any information here:
www.dslreports.com

You can check on your ISP's tech support pages to see if there are
instructions how to use a router with your cable/DSL modem.

Hi

Routers usually do not indicate the quality of the connection to the
Internet.

So let me guess, you are using a Wireless Router and the Wireless connection
indicates excellent signal.

There could few scenarios.

1. You are not even connoted to the Internet.

2. You do not have a Local Wireless connection.

3. Various combinations of the above.

First make sure that you have a Wireless connection from the Wireless
computer to the

Wireless Router. The capacity to be able to log to the Menus system of the
Router would indicate that you have a connection to the Router.

My New Wireless does not work - http://www.ezlan.net/wireless.html

Wireless, Basic Configuration - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Config.html

Wireless Security - http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Security.html

If you established a connection to the Router, and still do not have
Internet capacity it is probably an authentication (Id and Password)
problem,

For Internet Cable see here, http://www.ezlan.net/broadband.html

For DSL see here, http://www.ezlan.net/PPPOE.html
