NDIS related blue screen

I have Windows 98 on an IBM ThinkPad 600 series, Linksys
wireless card to a Linksys AP on my Windows XP Desktop.

For the last couple of years I have been getting blue
screens that require a hard (power cycle) reboot. It only
happens when using my IE browser, 6.0.2800.1106. The
problem does not appear to be site/application repeatable,
with a rough frequency of every 2-5 hours of web browsing.

The blue screen message is always consistent:

0028:C15CEBDA in VxD AFVXD(01)+00164A
Called From
0028:C0001C314 in VxD NDIS(01)+00004860

It looks like the Network Driver Interface Specification
(NDIS) miniport is calling an application that creates the
failure, but I have not been able to pin down the app.

The MS Knowledge base has no reference to this issue that
I have been able to find. Could someone help point me in a
productive research direction?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

I'd start by looking for updated drivers for your network card. If that
doesn't help, scan the system for spyware or adware.

Thanks, but I have the latest network drivers and my
spyware and adware scans run clean using PestPatrol,
updated yesterday.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a very similar issue with a Thinkpad 233MHz, think
I've I've narrowed it down to the drivers not loading for
PCMCIA 16 bit Belkin F5D5020 Ethernet card. The Thinkpad's
PC slots are also configured for Cardbus, and this is a
known issue but so far I haven't found any fix... is your
Thinkpad configured the same?
If you find a cure, I'd sure like to hear about it.
