NAT Routing WS2008

Hello NG,

I am trying to configure my new WS2008 in a way, that I can acces Internet
from my other PCs in the LAN.´
I have access to the Internet on my Server through a DSL-Modem to my ISP.
I have installed the roll "Routing & Ras" and "configured and activated" Ras
and Routing.

Still I can' access the Internet from my "XP professional SP2" workstation.

What must I do to achieve this goas?

Hello Rainer,

First i strongly recommend you to disable not used network adapters on the
server and the workstation. Is the server a domain controller? Is it configured
as DNS server? Also if you do not use ipv6, i would disable it. Then post
a new ipconfig /all, will be more clear.

I agree with all the steps Meinolf has recommended, and would add another
one, and that is disable Netbios over TCP/IP on the ppp interface on the
server.

Does the DSL ppp connection show up as an interface in RRAS? If it does
not, you will need to set up a demand-dial interface to act as the public
interface for NAT.

Ok, followed your requests (ipconifg output see below)

DSL ppp did not show up, so I set up a demand-dial interface.
I added it to NAT but it brought not the hoped result.
I still can't ping a IPAddress in the internet from my workstation.
If I ping for example "ping www.google.de" I do get a answer.
I am afraid, that I have NAT not configured correct. Is there a "step by
step" manuel on how to do it right?
May be I have also already messed up my WS2008 and it might be a good idea
to do a reinstallation?

Routing is not working - I think - .
a ping to www.google.de gives an answer, if done on the server. On the
client I run into the timeout.
This is also the case if both firewalls (client and server) are disabled.
