Is anyone using version 2.0.9.1 of the software for the Sierra Aircard 550?
Yesterday I opened my Sierra Wireless Aircard 550 (with Sprint) and got a
dialog box that said there was an update available. I chose it and installed
it. It was labeled as software version 2.0.9.1 (Build: 467). After I
installed it, I could no longer send or receive email, but I could still
connect to the internet. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with my ISP
(Internet America) and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. Talked
to Sprint three times; of course, they were no help.
This morning I used my "go back" to restore the computer to before I
installed the upgrade. That "older version" was labeled 1.6.3.3. (Build
427). Then I went to the Sierra website to download the latest version of
the software. Lo and behold, it was 1.6.3.3. I installed it anyway because
my "older" version didn't have a help file with it. After installation of
the second 1.6.3.3 (of course uninstalling the first one), I can once again
send and receive email. Still no help file, however.
Has anyone else come across version 2.0.9.1 (which did have a help file)?
Where did that dialog box come from? Where did that version come from?
Brigadoon?
Thanks,
Sasha
