You mentioned you've tried disabling firewalls - have you tried disabling
the firewall's driver(s)? You'll find these in Computer Management,
right-click Device Manager, View->Show hidden devices then under "Non-Plug
and Play Drivers". I'd advise doing this when the server isn't in use and
after a system backup :-)
Have you tried running a program like NetCat that you can use as a very
basic test to listen on a port and connect to it from a client? Have you
tried running a packet sniffer to see if the connections attempts reach the
server? Is something like ISA Server installed and configured wrong or gone
FUBAR?
Have you tried it in safe mode with networking? What about plugging a
client into the Linksys and seeing if other clients can connect to it (to
rule out the router)?
Also your mention of not being able to use the net at all makes me wonder
if it's a misconfiguration or firewall being naughty.
Put the server on the naughty list and tell it Santa will only give it a
lump of coal for Christmas, that might work! :-)
