is my new router knackered?

hi

just got a Edimax ar 7064 mg+a MIMO wireless router so i can connect my
house wirelessly, but have installed the router and cables etc and it
won't connect to the internet. it acquires an IP address and knows
theres a signal but it comes up saying little or no signal on the 2
screens in XP pro taskbar.

am i doing something wrong, do i need drivers?

edimax website is frankly crap for troubleshooting
