I have 7 Win2k3 server in a subnet 1.2.3.x and all workstation in subnet
1.2.4-5-6 mask 255.255.252.0.
My DC1 act as DNS, Master Browser and WINS.
When i try to browse in My Network Places i only saw those server but no
workstation.
If i stop the computer browser service from DC1, DC2 take the place and i
saw all Workstation and server. DC2 use the WINS from DC1. If i use BROWCON
it's seem i don't have any Master Browser for the Workstation subnet.
All working fine until 1 week ago and i don't changed nothink on the server
and network. My domain is a part of a global domain so if i use DC2 as Master
Browser i lost all other domain, i know it's normal DC2 doesn't have a Domain
trusted.
Someone have any idea?

The easiest way to troubleshoot browse related issues is to download
and run the following tool:

Description of NetBIOS Browsing Console (Browcon.exe)
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;818092

Post the output.

BROWCON give me this answer:
NetBIOS Browsing Console

System Missing from Domain Master Browser's List

Diagnosis:

The domain master browser does not have the missing system in its browse
list. Because of this, the missing system may also be missing from browse
lists on other subnet master browsers.

NOTE: The domain master browser should get the browse list for the missing
system's subnet from the master browser on that subnet. If the NetBIOS
Browsing Console also generated a report indicating that the missing system's
subnet master browser did not have the missing system in its browse list,
follow that report's suggestions before following the suggestions below.

Possible Causes:

This could be due to name resolution problems on the network.

*

The subnet master browser must be able to resolve the domain 1Bh
record in order to send its browse list to the domain master browser.
*

The subnet master browser must be able to resolve the PDC's NetBIOS name
*

The PDC must be able to resolve the subnet master browser's NetBIOS name
*

To verify that both the PDC and the subnet master browser can resolve
each other's NetBIOS names, map a network drive from the subnet master
browser to the PDC and from the PDC to the subnet master browser. If mapping
a drive fails, resolve the name resolution problem causing the failure.

Note: if the missing system is not in its own subnet master browser's list,
it will not be in the domain master browser's list either. This is by
design. Ensure that the missing system is in the browse list on its subnet's
master browser. The NetBIOS Browsing Console should tell you if this is the
case.

Summary:

The missing system is not in the domain master browser's list. Try to solve
this problem with the suggestions outlined above.

But if i stop computer browser on DC1 Dc2 act as server and the test pass
except and found computer from browse list on DC2 but always not in browse
list on DC1

You need to start with the missing machine and attempt to map
to a share on DC1 from that machine first by name then by tcp/ip
address. If either fails post the exact error.

I have no problem to map a share drive by name on DC1.

So which machine is the PDC emulator? Open a dos prompt and
run nbtstat -n on each machine. The one registering a domain name
1b unique name for domains is the PDC emulator. That machine
by default will be the DMB. The DMB must be able to communicate
with all subnet master browsers.. Each subnet will have 1 machine act
as the SMB to pass informatioin to the DMB.

The DMB is DC1. How i can know which Workstation act as SMB?

Open the WINS Database and sort by name then look for the machine
registering the domain name 1d name pertaining to that particular subnet.

Thanks for your time Michael. I'll found no entry with 1D. I'll try to found
which computer run computer browser in the subnet.

Once you do then check connectivity from that machine to
the domain master browser e.g., map first by tcp/ip address
then by name.
