My Network Places bad on 1 PC, good on the other

I have a desktop, a Linksys WRT54G router, and a wirelessly connected
computer for my home network.

On the desktop on the left side of Windows Explorer, in My Network Places, I
can see My Network Places->Entire Network->Microsoft Windows
Network->Mshome->Claudette, and then shared folders, as well as Printers and
Faxes under Claudette (my wife's laptop name). This looks great to me -- it
looks like I can see everything.

However, on my wife's laptop, I can only see My Network Places->Entire
Network->Microsoft Windows Network->Mshome. I can't see anything under
Mshome on the left side of Windows Explorer, but on the right side I see
"compaq centrino laptop (Claudette)" (with Mshome selected on the left side)??

I can see shared folders on both computers at a higher level in the chain.

What should I be seeing. Shouldn't I be able to see my desktop Ron computer
(under Mshome) on my wife's laptop, as well as the shared folders and the
Printers and Faxes, on my wife's laptop -- much the same as the information
that I can see on my computer (about her laptop).

I am getting close, I can tell -- but what is the likely problem here
preventing me from seeing everything about my computer, on my wife's laptop
-- as I do on my desktop.

I'm not answering my own question, but 5 minutes after I made the above post,
I got one of those "\\(laptop name) is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this
server to find out
if you have access permissions. " pop up on my desktop, for no reason.
Where did that come from -- I was just setting here.

Also, the "Entire Network" icon has disappeared from under My Network Places
-- what's going on here -- why would that disappear.

OK, while I was typing this note, the "Entire Network" icon came back, but I
can now only get down to the Mshome in the network structure -- which is
where I was able to get on my wife's computer. What happened.

Oh-OH, look at this -- the little blue wireless light went off on my wife's
laptop -- maybe that is what happened -- don't ever remember that happening
before either. I hit the wireless on button on the laptop and we are back on
the air, but I still can't get back to the point where I could see everything
on my wife's laptop from my desktop.

Sorry these are so long.
