I already know how to find my MAC address and IP address by locally
using "ipconfig" in windows 2000..

Alternatively I can use http://www.ipchicken.com/ to find out what
IP address I am broadcasting. But is there another web site or remote
tool out there that can also report what MAC address i am
broadcasting?

Please reply to this post.
Thanks,
McCool

As I misunderstand it, your mac address is supposed to be stripped out
of the header at the first router (your gateway)

Huh? Your MAC address doesn't make it "out there" (on the
Internet). It's strictly a local thing.

In comp.os.linux.networking, McCool uttered the immortal words:

Seeing as you've crossposted to a Linux NG and I'm reading this in a Linux
NG I'll give a Linux answer: /sbin/ifconfig.
