Hi all,

I've just moved into a new place and the BT line is being installed
next week (yay!).

Now, I used to have NDO and Pipex, but I'm looking for something
different this time... This is what I require:

2MB line
Unlimited (or at least 50GB limit)
1 month contract
1 email address
No web space required
Usenet access
Not bothered about P2P or file sharing
Cheap wireless router in signup pack

.....and definately not AOL or Tiscali!

Any suggestions?

I'd also be interested in ISP's that offer money off their ADSL product
if you take a phone service with them. Every little helps!

thanks in advance guys!

Simon

that should eliminate any suggestions, esp with your 1 month contract
stipulation.

1 month contracts from Zen, F2S, Plusnet, Griffin, Metronet, Andrews &
Arnold, Eclipse. email account extra with Metronet.

Tiscali - dialup speeds at Broadband prices, see
http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist...&Board=tiscali

AOL - the unlimited ISP of choice for heavy downloaders.

www.zen.co.uk I can recommend these people enough. Not cheap, but very good
service and most of what you are asking for. (1 month contract, TOTALLY
unlimited usage)

I'd have suggested Metronet (PayGo Extra 2000) but they don't offer an e-mail
account as part of the package (get a free yahoo.co.uk account, or pay a quid
for a .info domain and be independent of the ISP mail address anyway!) and to
my knowledge, few ISPs offer a wireless router as part of their signup deals,
but if you want a one month contract, you're going to be paying a significant
amount for the activation, aren't you... So how would you save ? Peter M.

[A downside, on reflection, with Metronet, would be their stiff setup fee. ]

Hi guys,

I'm only wanting a 1 month contract as I may be moving again in 3-4
months time, but I suppose if I get a 12 month contract, I can move the
ADSL to another property?

Had a look at BT Broadband - £29.99 a month with 40GB cap and a free
wireless router, or £26.99 with a 20GB cap.

Any experiences?

Simon

I'd be more than happy to recommend PlusNet Premier Broadband -
http://tinyurl.com/89gls

1 month contract, and moving house is free (so long as you stay with
plusnet)

Activation is free, too, so long as you stay with Plus.Net (for the full
five years)... But I believe Zen are also offering a "free house move"
option, and based on cost only, Plus.Net might be OK (certainly works
OK for me, though Usenet [binaries[ is slow [to unusable] on their
really cheap Broadband Plus account, and they give preference to their
own VoIP service, with others demoted to a lesser priority. Peter M.

[ PS it was about 77 GB last month, on my 14.99 account :-]

UK ADSL <http://tinyurl.com/5jpa4>... Saving with Plus.Net.
50+ GB of traffic last month, on Broadband Plus at only 14.99.
Unsuitable for heavy downloaders, fine for video/audio streaming.
