Hi
My home network keeps disconnecting.

I have two computers both running window xp home edition
Both computers have a belkin pci wireless adapter

I use the peer to peer option and Windows to run the network.

The computers are only 6 metres apart and there's no obstructions in the
way.

My problem is when i start to play a multiplayer game after about 10mins of
playing it just disconnects, Sometimes i can play for hours and sometimes i
can only play for about 3mins before it disconnects.

Anyone know why the two computers keep disconnecting?

TIA
Simon

When you say "Windows to run the network" do you mean you have selected
"use Windows to configure my wireless settings" ?

If so, try using the Belkin utility instead.

Also, if you only have the 2 54G Belkin cards and there are no 802.11b
devices on the network - you may also want to change the device manager
settings to "54g-Performance" from "54g auto" under IBSS 54g mode for each
card and there is a "rate" setting - you can also try turning off auto
negotiation and specifying a connection rate instead

Finally, if you are using the European Drivers, download and use the latest
American ones from Belkin - they seem to be much more mature..

Let me know if any of these help or not..

If not, tt may also be worth giving Belkin technical support a call if you
haven't already - they can be contacted 24/7 on 00800 2 2355460
(international freephone = 00800)

Regards
Sunil

Thanks for your help i apprecieate it.

Yes sorry i mean "use Windows to configure my wireless settings"

Most of what you say here makes sence to me with the ecseption of the
"device manager
settings to "54g-Performance" from "54g auto" under IBSS 54g mode for each
card"
I see know settings for anywhere for the above.

The Wireless cards are (Belkin 11Mbps (F5D6001 V.2))

Regards
Simon

Yes, that part isn't relevant to you - just ignore it

I thought youi were using Belkin's 54G/MB cards - the 11Mbps versions won't
have that setting..

Glad you seem to seem to have fixed your problems now though

Regards
Sunil
