Hi,

I am about to set up a network using two desktops, bought
the second one recently. They both have XP home.

The first computer was connected to the internet using a
external cable modem with a RJ45 cable connected to the
ethernet card.

I bought two RJ45 cables and a hub and did the following:

I connected the modem to the hub and did the same with
the two computers.

I can still connect to the internet using my first
computer, but cannot connect with the #2.

I have run the wizard on both, but no success.

The #1 is running like it used to connecting to the
internet, but the #2 has no connection either to internet
or the network.

What am I doing wrong. Do I need another ethernet card?

Does your Internet account include 2 IP addresses as part of the package?
Are you required to register MAC addresses (basically an unique identifier
of your network card) with your Internet provider?
