Too bad your Netgear has gone south. I noticed some products have bad
heatsinking (overheating parts) and I suspect this loose design approach
finally kills units after a year or so. .
My sister brought me a dead Linksys a few weeks ago, I opened the unit and
find out a regulator has no screw to set it on its heatsink!!! The regulator
blew up.
I don't know if one manufacturer is really better than others in a
particular product category but salespeople quickly find out about this,
they have to deal with the complaints.
Coincidence, I've got the same D-Link stuff. Works fine, few minor glitches.
Ron
P.S. Don't forget to update its firmware.
