mutt and certificate problems

I am reading E-mail using mutt on a Linux client machine. Mutt gets the
mail from a Linux mail server using imap or ipop. In both cases upon the
start of mutt I am getting message
"Server certificate has expired".

The certificate is then displayed and it is an obviously dummy certificate
with dates
"This certificate is valid
from Jul 27 14:08:44 2002 GMT
to Jul 27 14:08:44 2003 GMT"

I was looking on server for the source of this dummy certificate and I
could not find it. In the same time, I have a valid SSL certificate on
the server, that is used for my Webmail service, but that certificate is
not seen by the incoming mutt.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Frank Bures, <(E-Mail Removed)>
