I have this error when connecting over the LAN to our Win2003 server
standard (from an XP Pro client)

The following error prevented the display of any items:
Multiple connections to a server or shared ressource by the same user, using
more then one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous
connections to the server or shared ressources and try again..

I don't understand the error and why it shows up .... if there's more than
one user name for the same person, how can the OS be aware of that? If it is
another username, it is also another user that is connected for the server,
not!?

Strange question...

Thanks in advance for your help
Perry

I remember vaugley reading something regarding this, and the only thing i
seem to remember is that i has something to do with netbios... i know this
isn't much help but i think if you search winnetmag.com you might find the
article.

From a command prompt, run the nbtstat -s command to see what sessions
are set up.

I have the same problem with one workstation.

MSKB 812793 addresses it, but you have to call MS to get
the patch.

The workstation has gone through several domain swaps,
NT4 - Win2003 -> Win2003 again (crash).

What is somewhat strang to me is that I can set the share
up by IP, ie \\1.1.1.1\share versus \\servername\share

I can only figure there is somekind of SID type issue,
but why a new shell32.sll would fix it doesn't make sense.
