there are 9 IPC$ entries for a w2k user under Net Watcher on the win98se box
if I browse \\win98Server in Net Neighborhood. Also, there are two entries
for the share "C_drive" like so:
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
ipc$
C_drive
C_drive

Is this a problem? Been having some spooky network issues like locking up
and dos programs disappearing out of thin air. (which are usually network
issues)
all cables tested fine for continuity using a basic lan tester.
set all network cards to Auto_Config or Hardware_Default under media type.
(they were set to 100mb full duplex)
the dos program data is on the \\win98server the workstations simply map a
drive to it.
both w2k pc's log in under the same username User. hmmmm
thanks for any ideas you can throw at this.
