multiple IP on NIC

This may be confusing ...

I have a DHCP server that I want to set up a superscope
on. I bind 10.10.2.20 and 10.30.10.2 to the NIC and set
up the scopes. That's not the problem.

I have two VLANs 10.10.x.x and 10.30.x.x. Routing and
forwarding seem to be working except in the following case.

I have one computer (10.30.10.14) in the 10.30.x.x VLAN
and many computers in the 10.10.x.x VLAN.

From the 10.30.10.14 I can ping any device in the
10.10.x.x side EXCEPT 10.10.2.20 (request timed out)...

From 10.10.2.20 (DHCP server) I can ping anywhere in the
10.10.x.x VLAN but not the 10.30.x.x VLAN (again, request
timed out).

From any other machine in the 10.10.x.x VLAN I can ping
10.10.x.x (including 10.10.2.20) and I can also ping
10.30.x.x.

What am I missing?

Yes it is,...at least one of the problems.

1. Ditch the Superscope,..that is not what they are for. Use a separate
distince Scope for each subnet.

2. The Nic on the DHCP should be in only *one* subnet. It doesn't matter
which one, just pick one.

3. Use a LAN Router to router on the LAN between the VLANs. The Router must
be configured to forward the DHCP Queries. Depending on the model of router
it would either forward the DHCP Queries to the subnet where the DHCP
"lives" or it would forward the Queries directly to the DHCP Server(s). Some
Routers you can choose between those options. The Router includes
information in the "forwarded" packet so that the DHCP knows which Scope to
grab the address from.

This is what we use here that consists of two redundant DHCP Servers, about
6 VLANs, and one VPN/WAN link.
