I have a server that I added a new ip address of a different subnet. I
thought I was doing the right thing by adding a gateway for it, but I cannot
ping another subnet. Am I not suppose to add a gateway for every subnet that
my server has an ip address of?

Thanks!

No, you should have only one Default Gateway on you server. Routers should
do the rest.

BTW, if your server is a DC it is recommended to multi-home a DC.

Should have been: "BTW, if your server is a DC it is NOT recommended to
multi-home a DC."

Hello Troy,

No, configure only one default gateway. Subnets are normally connected with
routers. Please describe more detailed your network setup, servers, rotuers
etc. and what you are trying to achive. Do you run a domain or workgroup
server?

Best regards
