If you are referring to DNS names, you can configure a CNAME record within
DNS that will allow a single machine to be reached by multiple DNS names.
For example, you can have a machine called "server1.mydomain.com" that is
functioning as a web server, so you can create a CNAME of "www.mydomain.com"
so that both names will resolve via DNS.
