Multiple broadband connection with one phone line?

Is it possible to use two seperate ADSL broadband with one phone line
if not, why not

Technically, yes it is, using something called Limited Service
Selection (LSS).

LSS was introduced to limit which service provider's gateway a given
connection will be allowed to access, but it can also be used to allow
access to more than one gateway.

The feature is used internally by some BT staff, for example: they
have one login to connect to an internal private intranet gateway and
another login to access a general Internet access gateway. It could
be used in the same way by other corporates who run their own BT
Central for private network access.

LSS is not used to enable access to multiple gateways operated by
different service providers because the billing and technical
relationship with BT is unmanageable, it's not possible for two
billing relationships to co-exist with one single telephone number.
