Hi,

Has anyone managed to get MSN to work via CCProxy or indeed any other proxy
software, as I have tried many times to get MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger
to work via proxy and all have failed miserably. How come microsoft can't
make a version that works via a proxy server? Seems daft to me, when
everything else under the sun works just fine via proxy.. Does anyone know
how to make MSN work via proxy, I am behind a proxy server and cannot use
MSN Messenger here because of its restrictions.

Seem pretty straightforward

Open MSN Messenger
Menu "Tool" -> "Options" -> In "Connection" tab, check "I use proxy
server", choose SOCKS 5 in type, fill local proxy servers IP address in
"Server". Port is 1080.

Mmm thanks Ted, but have you got it working? Cos I've been trying just that
for months now. Still no joy here : - (

We used to use Yahoo and the only real difference in our set up was that
we used a different local proxy server address.
