MS Networking logon problem

I recently retired our aging Netware server which was
replaced with a Win XP machine. As a result, I decided to
remove the Netware client software from my Win Me laptop.
The uninstallation seemed to work fine but, as my luck
would have it, it pretty much hosed ALL of the networking
on the laptop. I painstakingly removed every last vestige
of Netware from the hard drive and from the registry and,
after about eight hours of troubleshooting, reluctantly
attempted an OS reinstall. Oddly, everything seems to work
OK except that I cannot get Win Me to consistently present
me with a Windows Networking logon dialog. By consistently
I mean that, if I run the "Home Networking Wizard", when I
reboot I get a message informing me that I have not logged
on and I am prompted to "return" to the login dialog to do
so. I get to logon once and the wizard informs me that it
was successful. Unfortunately, on every subsequent reboot,
I get no logon dialog before being presented with the
desktop. Any ideas on how to get Win Me to prompt for
networking logon at each boot would be appreciated. I've
exhausted everything I can think of. TIA.

Regards,
Howard

This will fix you right up, I think:

Be sure to pay especial attention to the Autologon portion of the article.
