I just installed an internal PCI Cable modem and had Wide
Open West broadband service connected on my Win 98
machine. After the service installer left, I started to
see a error message on boot up. A window appears after
the windows splash screen but before the desktop appears
saying "Microsoft Networking error loading protocol number
0 - Error 59". The message appears at every startup and
the machine appears work work fine after 'OKing" out of
the window. I searched the Knowledge Base and can only
find article 237433 - can't make sense of it. Can anyone
help???

You may have checked the box for "login to WIndows NT domain" in the
properties of Client for Microsoft Networks (and you are not in a domain).
Uncheck that and reboot.
