MS Broadband MN-520 Notebook Adapter not connecting

I'm trying to connect my MN-520 Notebook Adapter to the
WI-FI base station. The notebook is on Windows 98 and the
desktop is on XP.

The broadband connector wizrd stops after I insert the
notebook adapter. The notebook gives off a tone after I
install the card, but then nothing happens after that.
