Im looking for simple instructions as to how to setup mrtg on a W2003 server
to monitor 5 devices all on one html.

Hello,

I have not used it for two years or so, but you will have a scheduled bat
file that will call the mrtg binary with the good config file (one call per
device).
Then you will manually make an html page that point to the IMG.

You may consider using cacti, which is free and great, in the "click & play
& work & no worry" world:

Thanks. Never heard of cacti. how does it compare to mrtg?

It's using RRD database, from a high view it's equal, but it is said as the
new database version.

While mrtg is meaned for interface traffic, rrd is said for a large range of
use.

Both have been coded by the same guy (Tobi Oetiker):
