I am having the same problem with drop out by MP3 steaming and asked
Netgear, that is the answer I got:
Thank you for contacting Netgear Support. My name is Anurag & I will be
handling your enquiry.
I would suggest you to update the drivers for the adapter and check the
connectivity again. Please refer to the link given to download the drivers.
http://www.netgear.com/support/suppo...asp?dnldID=164
To do the same, perform the following the steps:
1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware ->
Device Manager.
2. Open Netgear MA101 Properties in Device Manager under Network Adapters.
3. Check the device status under General tab. If the device is not working
properly, you need to update the device drivers.
4. Click on Drivers tab.
5. Click on Update Drivers and click Next.
6. Specify the drivers location and Finish.
You can try assigning the static IP address to the wireless computer to
avoid disconnections. Perform the instructions given below to assign the
static IP address on Windows XP computer.
1. Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Network.
2. Go to local area connection properties for the ethernet card.
3. Select Internet Protocol TCP/IP under General tab and click on
Properties.
4. Specify an IP address in the range of 192.168.0.x with the subnet mask
as 255.255.255.0 and default gateway as 192.168.0.1
5. Also assign the Preferred and Alternate DNS address as 192.168.0.1 and
4.2.2.2 and click Ok and check the connectivity.
You can also try changing the wireless configuration settings with the
deivce and see if these resolves the issue.
1. Please check for any wireless device operating in the 2.4 GHz spectrum,
including 2.4 GHz cordless phones, microwave ovens as well as neighboring
802.11b wireless LAN's.
2. Make sure that the encryption is disabled on both the wireless devices.
3. Make sure that you have disabled the built in ethernet card if there is
any in the computer.
4. You can even try changing the preamble mode to short and try decreasing
fragmentation threshhold under the Wireless card advanced properties.
5. Try reducing Fragmentation Threshold and RTS Threshold to match the
device you are communicating.
Regards
Anurag Seth
