Moving SBS Folders

I've just inherited a DELL server (not yet in production) running SBS
2K3 Standard. The pre-install of SBS included partitioning the HDD
(80 GB) into a 20 GB "C:" drive and a 60 GB "D:" drive and then the
entire SBS pre-load was put in the 20 GB "C:" drive.

I'd like to relocate the Exchange Data Store, the User Shared Folders,
and perhaps even the ClientApps folder to the D: drive.

Is there a sure-fire simple way of accomplishing this short of simply
re-installing SBS?

TIA
Bilbo

You might want to try and delete the D:-disk and extend the C:-disk
with a partitioning tool like partition magic (diskpart can not extend
systemdrives). This is the quickest way of solving your problem,
presumably you have no issues with running only on a C:-disk of 80 GB.

Bilbo,

First of all, do not consider using partitioning tools on the c-drive if
this is a production server, unless you want to spend a full weekend in
recovery mode.

The short answer is yes, you can move everything that you need to move.

You can easily move the Exchange databases. To do this, see tip #8
under Exchange Server and Outlook at http://brad.dinerman.com.

See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;830254 to
move the ClientApps folder.

See
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
to move the Users Shared Folders.

Hi - the best place for SBS questions is, an SBS group. Try
m.p.windows.server.sbs.

That said, a system volume of 20GB should be fine -
