Moving to Newcastle - advice

I am just about to move to Newcastle and my new house is capable of cable
and adsl. I have never used cable since it is not available where I am at
the moment. I was wondering if people could recommend one over the other,
and how long does it take to get connected?

Thanks
Allan

OMA stay in and watch TV - for the average Geordie a good night out consists
of a pie, a pint, a fight and a s**g, not necessarily in that order ;-)

On the technical issue get freeview, freesat and ADSL, and avoid $ky and
NThell.

PS there is a local cultural magazine called "Viz" - buy a copy, you will
soon get the gist and some of the lingo...

have had both, and at the same time, cable wins it for me every time. The
ADSL speed varied for me, but cable is rock solid, and always has been.,
but like anything, other folk might have differing stories to tell ;-)

Where abouts in Newcastle mate? The waiting list for Openreach installs is
quite long at the minute. Telewest cover most this area.

Any questions mate just ask.

With the exception of the fight then food, alcohol and sex sounds like
an OK night to me

I am moving to wreckenton in Gateshead. I move down in a week and would
like to sort out something now so that I could be connected by next
saturday. Preferably something with a fast upload speed too, >256kbit.

Thanks
Allan
