I suppose it depends on how long you knew that you'd be away from there
but most ISPs require notice to cancel, and 30 days is not uncommon, so
down to your planning (or other things distracting you) not to have got
the cancellation request in earlier to close your ISP account, on/after
the last day you'd be in the present property...

'checked' or 'activated' ? I first thought you were on about Zen (but
later it became clear!) when you mentioned that there are no unlimited
products available... As for the new location, well, still unclear if
you mean that they charge an activation fee. I recently noticed there
is a fee of 11.75 when signing up with Metronet (a PlusNet brand) that
doesn't seem to be charged on other PN services, where they have a mad
5 years tie in (cancel any time before 60 months are up and they'll be
after from 100% down to 20% of the activation fee charge, plus similar
proportion for any hardware they provide 'free' - some yukky USB modem
I expect, despite some other ISPs now providing single port routers!)

F2S is part of Pipex, isn't it... Maybe it changed the whole thinking
behind the accounts and what was OK/not OK (just as happened with the
Metronet/PlusNet situation, where the accounts now have traffic shut
down to a trickle when some {LOW} upper quota is reached). Check a
few other ISPs and you'll find it hard to ever see 'unlimited' now
and it's not really surprising with the way upload/download speed
could allow a lot more traffic per day than ever before (just in
a matter of hours before I had breakfast my PC alone had used a
full GB, and this household is not full of heavy users). With
that in mind, you could probably switch ISP and feel happy to
know they won't get another penny - just depends what you're
after in traffic terms of course, as many will charge heavily
if you go over their (already generous) quota. Firewall on the
PC claims my traffic was over 75 GB in total last month but then
again I only pay 15 quid and I've little doubt people spending 20
and up use a lot more than me. Just what do you transfer, monthly?
