Can someone point me in the right direction on where to find a
whitepaper that explains how to move a DHCP scope and Database from one
server to another? I have a working scope running on one server that I need
to retire so I must move the database to a new server.

Thanks,
Jon

I too am moving a DHCP database and it's settings to a new server. This is
coming from an NT4 box and going to either a 2k, or 2k3 server.
I see 2 articles that talk about doing this: Q130642, and Q325473. The
second one talks about exporting the database using dhcpexim.exe , while the
first one has you copy the mdb file itself. This appears to be dependent on
what flavor server you're going to. NT4 to 2k3 seems quite simple using the
tool, while NT4 to 2k is a little more difficult with the export of the reg
key and manual copy of the mdb file.

Thank you for this reply as well. I shouldn't be having too many
difficulties with this. I am moving my DHCP Databases from a Win2K3 server
to a Win2k3 server. Once all FSMO's, DHCP Db's, DNS replication, Scripts,
etc... have been taken into account I will run dcpromo against it to drop it
from the network as a DC and be done with it.

Thank you again for the replies -
Jon-
